Critically acclaimed and publicly celebrated for its unique artistic vision and sheer musical muscle, Passion & Warfare, is now considered the milestone that marks the arrival of the 7-string solid body electric guitar. Components include DiMarzio Blaze pickups in an HSH configuration, a low profile double locking tremolo bridge with an Ultralite tremolo arm and a locking nut.Ģ015 marked the 25th anniversary of the release of Steve Vai's landmark solo album, Passion & Warfare. The UV77 features an American basswood body mated to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with disappearing pyramid inlays.

The 3 dimensional show display just has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated, and the plexiglass wall did not help in showing the guitars at their best.

The third in this series of celebratory editions looks to the traditional role silver plays in observance of a 25th anniversary, marrying it with a design reminiscent of Steve’s custom 7-string, used when touring with Whitesnake, immediately following the release of Passion & Warfare. These hand crafted guitars draw on the color schemes present in the original album artwork, depicting the ravages of a war-torn hell juxtaposed against a nirvana-like state of passion for life and for love. It is rumored that HUSA will keep a set for their permanent collection leaving 111 for US collectors and players alike. There is only 77 of each version built, with 38 slated for US distribution. The guitars are Sugi built just as the 77RE's were, and the main contributor to the retail pricing. Technically a year late, Steve will be doing a P&W tour to support the remastered release and the Anniversary. The 3 versions are all derived from the now infamous album of the same name, Passion, Warfare, and Silver for the 25th Anniversary.
